  • Skylar Bodt

    Cardiology Postdoctoral Fellow

I am a passionate biomedical scientist with expertise in utilizing biophysical approaches to explore the structure-function relationships of key cardiac proteins, with a focus on myosin mechanochemistry and its role in disease states. Through specialized methodologies such as steady state/transient kinetics, single myofibril mechanics, fluorescence spectroscopy, and structural biology techniques, I strive to contribute to a deeper understanding of how molecular dysfunction drives cardiac and musculoskeletal disorders. I am committed to leveraging cutting-edge research to advance therapeutic strategies that improve patient outcomes.

    Artist & Scientific Communicator

In addition to being an active biomedical researcher, I have always been inspired by the natural world and enjoy sharing the beauty of scientific discovery through art. I am passionate about using creativity to spark curiosity about biomedicine and strengthen scientific communication. I create my artwork through both traditional painting and drawing techniques and digital illustration using a professional graphics tablet, allowing each piece to retain an original, handcrafted quality. I also regularly develop custom scientific figures and cover illustrations to visually communicate my own research and support collaborative projects.
